The goal of The Unfiltered Collective is to rehabilitate and reinvigorate our relationship with words and the power of one’s story through two primary means:

The first is Living Unfiltered–

Living Unfiltered is a community that utilizes strategic affirmation practices, workshops, events, resources, faith, and words to empower us to live our most unapologetic, unadulterated, unfiltered lives in abundance. In support of historically marginalized identities, we do this work through affirmation, art, community, and accountability. We also equip women leaders with professional and personal development, platforms, and leadership opportunities. Living Unfiltered is a movement that culminates every calendar year in a 31-day intensive called #UnfilteredDecember. In our third year, our community has grown nationally and globally.

The first is Unfiltered Poetry–

By curating creative space for underserved youth, Unfiltered Poetry uses the medium of spoken word and strategic affirmation practices to empower a sense of voice, advocacy, effective communication, and emotional intelligence. After ten years of partnering with Providence community centers, art programs, non-profits, and after-school programs, our expanded iteration partners with college student mentors, high school students, and middle school students to establish a pipeline of access & support, & runs concurrently in Atlanta, GA & Providence, RI. In this way, the program also serves as a cultural and artistic exchange. Students end each series with a collaborative project: hosting a poetry show of their original material or hosting a poetry workshop for their community.
